Fashion Tricks: How to Remove Make Up Stains

What kind of bra do you wear with an open-back shirt? How do you hem jeans in a hurry? How do you remove makeup from clothes?

We all find ourselves in a stitch sometimes (see what I did there?). You’re in a hurry and, OF COURSE, something goes wrong with your outfit. You’ve already tried on numerous looks and finally found the right one. Don’t worry. Here’s a list of fashion hacks to help you look like the flawless fashionista you are.

Nothing kills the fashion mood (and the pocketbook) more than a stain. When you’re ballin’ on a budget, you can’t afford for a little spot to ruin a perfectly cute shirt. Here’s a list of cheap, effective ways to remove annoying stains!

1.Liquid Foundation

You will probably regret buying that “extra coverage” foundation once it lands on your white shirt. No need for “buyer’s remorse”, just grab some shaving cream and apply to stained area. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rub and scrub the shaving cream into the stain. Rinse with cold water and repeat. Throw the garment into the wash once the process is complete. That rhyme wasn’t intended, but it’ll do.

2.Lipstick

We want to leave our mark, but not accidentally! To remove lipstick from clothes, DO NOT RUB WITH WATER! Rubbing the stain makes the situation worse. Lipstick, like mascara, is an oil-based product. To remove an oil-based stain, use an oil-based remover. Spray hairspray on the area—generously. It should look as if you just ran the garment under the faucet. After letting the item sit for 10 minutes, DAB with a wet sponge.

3.Mascara

When mascara slips out of your fingers, you watch it fall to the ground—or your clothes—in slow motion; your life flashes before your eyes. You think it’s all over. Deep breath. Run or walk briskly to the kitchen and grab the dish soap. Rub the soap into the stain under warm water. Be careful not to burn your fingers. I know, beauty is pain, but… Toss the item in the wash afterwards.

4.Deodorant

For some reason, white deo marks on a black piece of clothing is mortifying, like standing in front of a crowd naked. Never fear. Grab a dryer sheet and rub against the garment. Voila, stain gone!

With these tricks, you’ll still be fashionably late, but at least you’ll have a genuine reason. And you can humbly brag about your not-so-secret fashion hacks.
